As for when, A.V.; vouchsafed unto for had sworn to, A.V. and T.R. Vouchsafed ; ὁμολογεῖν , in the sense of" to promise," as in Matthew 14:7 , and not unfrequently in Greek writers, for ὀμνύειν , to swear.
