27. The daughters of the Philistines, which are ashamed of thy lewd way Even the Philistines are ashamed of this harlot (Amos 3:9). Even the cities of Philistia do not encourage such a mixed religious cult as this “holy city” of Jerusalem, and this is seen to explain why so much of Israelitish territory is controlled by Philistia.
