In Welsh mythology, kingdom of the dead; afterwards an earthly paradise in the western seas; finally in Arthurian romance, the last resting-place of heroes, such as King Arthur. It has been identified with Glastonbury, England, owing to the intimate connection of that place with Arthurian legend.
