The so-calIed Ladies' Peace, negotiated in 1529 by Louise of Savoy, mother of Francis I of France, and Margaret of Austria, aunt of Emperor Charles V. According to the terms Francis renounced his claims upon Italy, Burgundy, and Artois and paid indemnity; Charles released the French princes and agreed not to press claims upon Burgundy at once.
