Incorrectly called Montagnais A Déné (Athapascan) tribe, whose habitat was the vicinity of Lake Athabasca, Manitoba, Canada. They welcomed the first Catholic missionaries, 1845, and at present about one thousand of them live at the mission of IIe-à -la-Crosse.
