Martyr, died Rome, Italy, c252He was the jailer of Saint Lawrence who converted him. Racked and scourged, he was finally tied to the tail of a horse and dragged to death. His nurse, Concordia, and 19 members of his household suffered martyrdom with him. The catacomb of Saint Hippolytus, in which he is buried, is near the grave of Saint Lawrence, not far from the city.
