Jiph'thah-el. (which God opens). The valley of Jiphthahel. A valley which served as one of the landmarks for the boundary of both Zebulun, Joshua 19:14, and Asher. Joshua 19:27. Dr. Robinson suggests that Jiphthah-el was identical with Jotapata, and that they survive in the modern Jefat, a village in the mountains of Galilee, halfway between the Bay of Accre, and the Lake of Gennesareth.
