Na'amathite, The. The Gentile name of one of Job's friends, Zophar, the Naamathite. Job 2:11; Job 11:1; Job 20:1; Job 42:9. There is no other trace of this name in the Bible, and the town whence it is derived is unknown. (But, as Uz was in Arabia, probably the Naamah where he lived was on the Arabian borders of Syria).
