It is used three times, (a) Romans 5:2 , of the "access" which we have by faith, through our Lord Jesus Christ, into grace; (b) Ephesians 2:18 , of our "access" in one Spirit through Christ, unto the Father; (c) Ephesians 3:12 , of the same "access," there said to be "in Christ," and which we have "in confidence through our faith in Him." This "access" involves the acceptance which we have in Christ with God, and the privilege of His favor towards us. Some advocate the meaning "introduction."
