Son of Ahisamach of the tribe of Dan; contemporary of Moses. He was appointed by God ("and I, behold, I have given," Exodus 31:6) to work with Bezaleel, the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, in the construction of the Tabernacle (ib. 35:34; 36:1,2). Oholiab was "an engraver, and a cunning workman, and an embroiderer in blue, and in purple, and in scarlet, and fine linen" (ib. 38:23).
