Isaiah 1:1

Hear me, you heavens! Listen, earth!<cr>1</cr> <indent>For the <smallCap>Lord</smallCap> has spoken:<cr>2</cr> </indent> “I reared children<cr>3</cr> and brought them up, <indent>but they have rebelled<cr>4</cr> against me.</indent>

The ox knows<cr>1</cr> its master, <indent>the donkey its owner’s manger,<cr>2</cr> </indent> but Israel does not know,<cr>3</cr> <indent>my people do not understand.<cr>4</cr> ”</indent><pb/><poetry>

Isaiah 1:3

Isaiah 1:13

Your New Moon<cr>1</cr> feasts and your appointed festivals<cr>2</cr> <indent>I hate with all my being.<cr>3</cr> </indent> They have become a burden to me;<cr>4</cr> <indent>I am weary<cr>5</cr> of bearing them.</indent>

Isaiah 1:23

This is what Isaiah son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem:<cr>1</cr>

In the last days<cr>1</cr> <pb/><poetry>the mountain<cr>2</cr> of the <smallCap>Lord</smallCap>’s temple will be established <indent>as the highest of the mountains;<cr>3</cr> </indent> it will be exalted<cr>4</cr> above the hills, <indent>and all nations will stream to it.<cr>5</cr> </indent></poetry>

Isaiah 2:2

Many peoples<cr>1</cr> will come and say,<pb/><poetry>“Come, let us go<cr>2</cr> up to the mountain<cr>3</cr> of the <smallCap>Lord</smallCap>, <indent>to the temple of the God of Jacob.</indent> He will teach us his ways, <indent>so that we may walk in his paths.”</indent> The law<cr>4</cr> will go out from Zion, <indent>the word of the <smallCap>Lord</smallCap> from Jerusalem.<cr>5</cr> </indent>

Isaiah 2:3

Isaiah 2:7

Their land is full of idols;<cr>1</cr> <indent>they bow down<cr>2</cr> to the work of their hands,<cr>3</cr> </indent> <indent>to what their fingers<cr>4</cr> have made.</indent>

Isaiah 2:8

So people will be brought low<cr>1</cr> <indent>and everyone humbled<cr>2</cr> —</indent> <indent>do not forgive them.<ft>1</ft><cr>3</cr> </indent><pb/><poetry>

Go into the rocks, hide<cr>1</cr> in the ground <indent>from the fearful presence of the <smallCap>Lord</smallCap></indent> <indent>and the splendor of his majesty!<cr>2</cr> </indent>

Isaiah 2:11

Isaiah 2:12

for all the cedars of Lebanon,<cr>1</cr> tall and lofty,<cr>2</cr> <indent>and all the oaks of Bashan,<cr>3</cr> </indent>

for all the towering mountains <indent>and all the high hills,<cr>1</cr> </indent>

Isaiah 2:14

for every lofty tower<cr>1</cr> <indent>and every fortified wall,<cr>2</cr> </indent>

The arrogance of man will be brought low<cr>1</cr> <indent>and human pride humbled;<cr>2</cr> </indent> the <smallCap>Lord</smallCap> alone will be exalted in that day,<cr>3</cr>

and the idols<cr>1</cr> will totally disappear.<cr>2</cr> </indent><pb/><poetry>

People will flee to caves<cr>1</cr> in the rocks <indent>and to holes in the ground<cr>2</cr> </indent> from the fearful presence<cr>3</cr> of the <smallCap>Lord</smallCap> <indent>and the splendor of his majesty,<cr>4</cr> </indent> <indent>when he rises to shake the earth.<cr>5</cr> </indent>

Isaiah 2:19

In that day<cr>1</cr> people will throw away <indent>to the moles and bats<cr>2</cr> </indent> their idols of silver and idols of gold,<cr>3</cr> <indent>which they made to worship.<cr>4</cr> </indent>

Instead of fragrance<cr>1</cr> there will be a stench;<cr>2</cr> <indent>instead of a sash,<cr>3</cr> a rope;</indent> instead of well-dressed hair, baldness;<cr>4</cr> <indent>instead of fine clothing, sackcloth;<cr>5</cr> </indent> <indent>instead of beauty,<cr>6</cr> branding.<cr>7</cr> </indent>

Isaiah 3:24

Your men will fall by the sword,<cr>1</cr> <indent>your warriors in battle.<cr>2</cr> </indent>

Isaiah 3:25

The gates<cr>1</cr> of Zion will lament and mourn;<cr>2</cr> <indent>destitute,<cr>3</cr> she will sit on the ground.<cr>4</cr> </indent>

In that day<cr>1</cr> seven women <indent>will take hold of one man<cr>2</cr> </indent> and say, “We will eat our own food<cr>3</cr> <indent>and provide our own clothes;</indent> only let us be called by your name. <indent>Take away our disgrace!”<cr>4</cr> </indent>

Isaiah 4:2

In that day<cr>1</cr> the Branch of the Lord<cr>2</cr> will be beautiful<cr>3</cr> and glorious, and the fruit<cr>4</cr> of the land will be the pride and glory<cr>5</cr> of the survivors<cr>6</cr> in Israel.

Those who are left in Zion,<cr>1</cr> who remain<cr>2</cr> in Jerusalem, will be called holy,<cr>3</cr> all who are recorded<cr>4</cr> among the living in Jerusalem.

Isaiah 4:3

The Lord will wash away the filth<cr>1</cr> of the women of Zion;<cr>2</cr> he will cleanse<cr>3</cr> the bloodstains<cr>4</cr> from Jerusalem by a spirit<ft>1</ft> of judgment<cr>5</cr> and a spirit<ft>2</ft> of fire.<cr>6</cr>

Isaiah 4:4

Then the Lord will create<cr>1</cr> over all of Mount Zion<cr>2</cr> and over those who assemble there a cloud of smoke by day and a glow of flaming fire by night;<cr>3</cr> over everything the glory<ft>1</ft><cr>4</cr> will be a canopy.<cr>5</cr>

It will be a shelter<cr>1</cr> and shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge<cr>2</cr> and hiding place from the storm<cr>3</cr> and rain.
