Read & Study the Bible Online - Bible Portal
"Thou that dwellest in the gardens, the companions hearken to thy voice: cause me to hear it." The Lord is speaking, and His place is found. Let us go where we may meet with Him and hear from Him. Thou that dwellest in the gardens - the Lord is located in the garden; If you knew where He was, where would you be? A Christian goes to where the Lord is. He cannot be without Him. And we definitely do not want to be guilty of earlier chapters in this book of Canticles to lose our Beloved. WE find Him, we stay with Him and we listen to Him. The study of the gardens throughout Scripture is rich and blessed. We begin in Genesis with the Garden of Eden; we know of Christ often going into the garden of Gethesmane; the gardens mentioned here in Song of Solomon; Uzziah was a king that loved to garden; and Solomon had some very beautiful gardens. And is there not a more beautiful hymn, 'In the Garden'. That verse should direct us as this verse does: I come to the garden alone While the dew is still on the roses And the voice I hear falling on my ear The Son of God discloses. And He walks with me, and He talks with me, And He tells me I am His own; And the joy we share as we tarry there, None other has ever known. He speaks, and the sound of His voice, Is so sweet the birds hush their singing, And the melody that He gave to me Within my heart is ringing. I'd stay in the garden with Him Though the night around me be falling, But He bids me go; through the voice of woe His voice to me is calling. Let us go to the garden where He dwells. And there with Him we will learn from Him and more of Him. But if we be separated from Him then there is much folly and great alarm about our growing in Him. WE will have become separate from Him. And this cannot be.
