Read & Study the Bible Online - Bible Portal
"Then I saw, and considered it well; I looked upon it, and received instruction." A very powerful verse of teaching and learning for us. Will you ponder and glean its help? Then I saw, and considered it well - word study, see; word study, consider; word study, well; PErsonal observation, 'I saw' leads to the next part, 'I consider'; Visiual images and learning helps move one to the place of 'considered it well'. That is not to say that a blind person cannot consider it well. For they have senses to enhance other areas of sound and touch. But again, what do you see? It is important to realize and have cognitive ability to understand what you see. You ask a child, 'What do you see there?' They reply ' NOthing.' Something is there though, they just can't discern what it is. Having eyes to see, and cannot see is the problem. So we ask, 'O Lord, open my eyes that I may see.' 'then I saw', thus his eyes are opened to see what the Lord would have him see. Solomon's wisdom began with this observation of being able to see. Perhaps the lack of wisdom in the church today and among its pew sitters, is that they have not seen. When I read of the accounts in Scripture, I see it; I envision myself right there with the action going on. When I read of the accounts of revival, I see it; just as if I was right there living through the experience. Now some may say I have to big of an imagination; that may be so. But perhpas it is the truth, I see. 'Faith is the substance of things not seen'; physically not seeing the answer, but seeing it in the mind, in the heaert to knwo it shall be. Imagination? NO, faith! I have faith to see the things that have not been revealed in my reality yet. Things of consistency, that God Who chagnes not, I see what He has done and know that He is able to do so today or tomorrow. He is able! 'And consdiered it well'; once the issue of seeing is done, Solomon lays it to disect. what have i just seen? what has just been revealed before me? what is this meaning? such questions and pondering is 'considering it well'.
