O God, who didst send thy Son not to be ministered unto, but to minister; Strengthen us to serve even as he served. May the sick in hospitals, the offenders in jails, the lonely and unknown on our ships, mothers tired and overworked, children sick and feeble, and all sorts and conditions of thy people receive of our sympathy and our service, made practical by such means as we can employ for their relief and comfort; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
