(1608-1661) Popular, witty English pastor, churchman and historian. Fuller sought peace during the Civil War between the parlimentarians and the royalists but sided with the king and served as a chaplain to the court. Works include The Holy State and the Profane State, The Church History of Britain, and Mixed Contemplations of Better Times. He is best known for his posthumously published Worthies of England (1662).
