(1928 - 1989) American scholar and apologist, specialized in researching cults and new religious movements, combatting the spread of these movements and evangelizing those involved in cults. Martin is remembered for his daily, nationwide radio program The Bible Answerman and his groundbreaking reference work The Kingdom of the Cults. Dr. Martin founded the Christian Research Institute which has continued after his death, assisting Christians to evangelize people involved in cults, the occult and world religions.
