John Follette

John Follette (1883 - 1966)

Follette was a gifted Bible teacher and author, who had both perspective and spiritual depth in his interpretation of the Word. He was an illuminated spirit in the field of spiritual reality, and had an unusual ability to impart “spirit and life” into those who sat under his ministry.

He received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit in 1913 while a student at a Bible School in Rochester, New York, and later became a teacher there until the school closed. He also taught for many years at Southern California Bible College. During the later years of his life, he was called into a wider field, ministering in conferences and retreats which took him around the world. He passed into his eternal reward in 1966 at the age of 82.

Fellow With Christ in the Yoke

SINGING PLOWMAN God's plow struck deep within my heart And plowed long furrows, one by one, Through fallow ground so hard and firm, From early morn till set of sun. The plow-share was eternal TRUTH Which tore the hidden roots in me And turned them to the light and air Till self-hood lay a field set ... Read More

Fellowship

Sometimes, just the offering of our humanity pleases Him. He loved the disciples' presence, but there was failure on their part on the Mount of Transfiguration. They also failed in the Garden, because of their limited spiritual comprehension. Matthew 26:43, "And He came and found them asleep again: ... Read More

Fellowship in the Cross and Crown

After our Lord Jesus Christ gets the young Christians yoked up and they are rendering beautiful service with the blessing of God upon them, when He has them so close to Him that they can look right into His eyes and they are pulling along together, He begins to deal with them on other lines than mer... Flesh

God didn't even want the smell of sweat on the Priests. Anything of the human; the agitation of the flesh; the effort of flesh; He does not want. (Ezek. 44:18) Do not let the old nature which is still alive, direct traffic -- deny yourself. The Book of Revelation was given to the Church; not the wor... Read More

Fruition

“But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus. Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No.” “And he said unto them, cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and ... Read More

General Maxims

If we know HIM, we know enough! Christ's character is built in us; not given to us. Righteousness is imputed. Never take the initiative in moving into anything unless you have the Word of God to garrison you. --As soon as the Spirit takes hold of that Word, He makes it a throbbing reality. The motto... Gifts

In Romans 11:29 we read that "The gifts and calling of God are without repentance:" A gift can be operated purely in the flesh or psyche; it depends purely upon who is back of the motivating and directing. -- In I Corinthians, chapters 12-14 we find Paul correcting their motives regarding the gifts.... God Moving in Houston in 1997

If God wants to appear in a body, He can, but in essence He is Spirit; not a spirit, but He is Spirit. The article is not in the original at all. He is Spirit. That is why He is present everywhere. I don't define God: I experience Him. I can have a doctrinal idea of God, but afterward I find the rea... Read More

God's Objective

Thou hast always taken the initiative to reach us. In just that simple, and humble way, we come back and say, "Thank You, Lord; continue to draw us that we may run after Thee and find Thee." We are on our way back to Thy wonderful and loving heart, and we must be prepared to live, and move with Thee... Read More

Graduation

It is our attitude toward Truth, and our power to receive that classifies us. Paul mentions three classes of people: natural; spiritual; carnal man. The thing which determines the class to which we belong, is our capacity to understand: our love of Truth; our embracing the Truth, and letting it work... Read More

Healing

Regarding healing: The miracle in the flesh will perish, but the miracle in the spirit -- to make us into living spirits -- will last through eternal ages. Do you want deliverance or development? People get these strange ideas that God always fits into the same pattern. He did not raise every corpse... Read More

Holy Spirit

After the fall and ruin, the Holy Spirit still moves as the life principle of God. He now groans throughout all creation, as well as in the heart of the believer, and waits for the day of triumph and consummation. He brooded over the earth in the beginning to bring it to its creation. Now He groans ... Read More

How to Read the Bible

Trust the Lord to give each one his portion. I thought this morning instead of taking one text, the Lord didn’t lay that on my heart at all, I felt to read you something in the Word and show you how the Lord opens up the truth to me. Would that help you? Many people say, “I read the Bible and it doe... Read More

Jesus

We forget we have a victorious Head; He is crowned, and all power is vested in Him in heaven and in earth. We are only cells in the Body. We don't have to worry; just look at the birds, etc. He is the center of everything; He is the center of the universe, and everything should verge to Him. Our hea... Read More

Kingdom of God

In Luke 17:20-21, where. He speaks of "the kingdom of God" -- this kingdom realm that we live in -- Jesus didn't call it "the kingdom." He called it "the realm' and I like it much better; Many of our translators are using the word "realm" now, and they should, because our word "kingdom" has these co... Read More

Knowing His Will for our Lives

As we daily walk with the Lord, seeking to please Him in all things, His will for our lives will gradually unfold before us. "For it is God who works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure" Phil 2:13. A man once said that he had totally submitted his life to the Lord. Then he likened thi... Read More

Life

Accept life -- God knows all about it. Turn your life over to Him. Let Him show you how to work it out. If you learn to interpret life, you can accept it. Regarding high, ecstatic points in life, we can't maintain the emotional stimuli of that high point. We couldn't live under it. We are not made t... Read More

Love of God

The first vocation of personality is expression; it is basic. Man is to love; to live; to get out; he is made with potential powers. Man

Man was made for God's pleasure and glory. God is seeking the glory which is due His name. He is seeking the pleasure which His loving heart has long sought in humanity.
