The common meaning of prosperity is abundance. It may be riches, food, and other material things. However, if we read prosperity in the Bible, it does not only talk about material possessions and blessings.
Prosperity could mean finding favor in the sight of men. One can have a simple and unabundant life financially-speaking, yet he can be revered by other people around him. It could also mean abundance in experience and success in life.
So what are we talking about here? If we only check our own definition of the word prosperity, we would only come up with a material and superficial type of prosperity. But if we include what the Bible pertains as prosperity, we would realize that it is a lot bigger than we thought.
