In Colossians 3:12-14, we see several virtues that we are commanded to “clothe ourselves with” as “God’s chosen people.” These virtues are the character traits of Christ. Many of them are described in Galatians 5 as the “fruit of the Spirit.” And while it is the Holy Spirit who helps us to grow in these character traits, we still have a responsibility to put these virtues on in the way that we live. This is what it means to live “as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved.”
This is a sermon based on Colossians chapter 3. I preached this message at the Minnehaha Church of Christ in Vancouver Washington on Sunday, July 12, 2020.
