At the burning bush, God introduces himself to Moses with a name unlike any other: I AM. It is a name that speaks to his eternal nature, his power, and his presence. Centuries later, when Jesus uses that same language about himself, people immediately understand the claim he is making. This is not just a teacher or prophet speaking. Jesus is identifying himself with the very name of God.
