Ezekiel 18:4 “The souls who sins will die”
Priests, preachers, pastors, missionaries, etc. like to use this verse out of context to try and prove that the Original Sin is actually true.
What is the Original Sin? Does it exist, according to the Scriptures?
Before examining the following verses, please remember that Jesus said, in Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfil them. (18) I tell you the truth, until Heaven and Earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. (19) Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of Heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of Heaven.”
Therefore, Christians must follow the entire Bible. Now, let’s examine what the Bible says:
Deuteronomy 24:16 “Fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their fathers; each is to die for his own sin.”
2 Kings 14:6 “Yet he did not put the sons of the assassins to death, in accordance with what is written in the Book of the Law of Moses where the LORD commanded: “Fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their fathers; each is to die for his own sins.”
Ezekiel 18:20 “The soul who sins is the one who will die. The son will not share the guilt of the father, nor will the father share the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous man will be credited to him, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against him.”
Normally, this renders the Case Closed, but there is more evidence from the New Testament that the Original Sin isn’t true.
Jesus also said, with his own lips:
Matthew 19:14 “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.”
Mark 10:14 “When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”
Luke 18:16 “But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”
All this was before the alleged Crucifixion, thus here Jesus is confirming that these children are sinless. Therefore, the concept of the Original Sin is false, and should be rightfully rejected.
Case Closed.
