At the root of so many of life’s problems is the hidden culprit of pride. Even those we may consider humble, we find pride themselves in their humility! And pride corrupts our vision, understanding, and emotions.

John 3:29-30: It is the bridegroom who marries the bride, and the bridegroom’s friend is simply glad to stand with him and hear his vows. Therefore, I am filled with joy at his success. He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.

There was no more successful preacher at that time than John the Baptist. Yet, as he met Christ, he was filled with joy at Jesus success. Is pride preventing joy in your life today? Turn to Jesus, and find true success in His joy.
