Sincerity does not make worship acceptable to YHWH if it’s not offered according to His instructions. In this teaching, we explore what Scripture calls strange fire: when sincerity is not enough, using the examples of Nadab and Abihu and the golden calf to demonstrate how worship must be rooted in obedience—not creativity or tradition.

YHWH is holy, and only He defines what is acceptable in His presence. When we add to or take away from His instructions (Deut. 12:32), we risk offering fire He did not command. This teaching helps us recognize the difference between holy fire and strange fire, so that our worship may truly glorify the One we serve.
