The Transfiguration (Luke 9: 28-36) Bible Project

Scripture memory in song was taught in our Children Church. Besides teaching the children about the meaning of the verse and their application, they were taught to put these verses to memory through songs. This idea was mooted when we observed that some of the children in class were facing difficulties memorising scripture especially the slower ones. It helps the children in memorising bible verses effectively and also level-up the pace of learning amongst different children.

Singing enabled all to learn together and it is also a form of worship. We could see the fruits of such an effort as the children were able to rattle off many verses easily as familiar tunes provided a creative means to help them remember. Most importantly, God being glorified.

The singing, piano playing and recording were amateurish but the power of God made the difference. We hoped you will find it useful in your own ministry and we appreciate your constructive feedback to make it better. God Be Praised.

Together with actions of the various instruments, it helped the kids learn to praise God and memorise these verses in a fun and effective way. It also brought out the joy in the kids. Real joy that stems from worshipping our Almighty One. Let us all worship and praise God in joy. 
 
I would like to thank my sister for creating the actions for this scripture song that helped the kids learn it easily and with so much fun. She even improved upon it further for this Youtube. It is a blessing indeed to have her partner me in this effort. All praise to God for His provisions. To Him be the Glory.

reflectFive can be used for Lectio Divina (Latin for "divine reading"), which is a practice (originating with the Benedictines) of slow, contemplative praying of Scripture, treating it not as a text to be studied, but as the Living Word. The purpose of Lectio Divina is to increasingly offer more of ourselves and our relationships to the Father, and to accept the embrace that God is continuously extending to us in the person of his son, Jesus Christ.
