It’s a strange thing to feel alone when you share a planet with more than eight billion people. Yet we all feel alone on occasion—Christians and non-Christians alike. We convince ourselves that we’re living a solitary existence, that no one notices us or cares about what we do or feel. 
 
 
Psalm 94:14 reminds us that we are, in fact, not alone: “The Lord will not reject his people; he will not abandon his special possession” (NLT). Whatever you’re facing, you’re not alone. God is with you. He walks beside you through your valley. He accompanies you through your storm. 
 
 
The problem is that distractions can keep us from sensing God’s presence. That’s why He says in Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God!” (NLT). Embrace quiet. 
 
 
When the prophet Elijah felt all alone and feared for his life, God made His presence known to Elijah with the “sound of a gentle whisper” (1 Kings 19:12). That was all Elijah needed to realize he wasn’t alone. 
 
 
God also makes His presence known through His Word. So if you feel alone, spend some time reading, meditating on, and memorizing Scripture. Start with passages such Deuteronomy 31:6; Philippians 4:6–7; and 1 Peter 5:7. Pray about the things you read. Ask God to help you sense His nearness. 
 
 
Prayer is important because we have an enemy who thrives on our weaknesses. The apostle Peter wrote, “Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8 NLT). Like a lion on the prowl, our enemy targets solitary prey. He exploits our feelings of loneliness and tries to create distance between us and God. But God has a plan to defeat our enemy. 
 
 
God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone” (Genesis 2:18 NLT). Peter wrote, “God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another” (1 Peter 4:10 NLT). Those two verses are not unrelated. To lovingly serve other people, we must look away from our own needs and focus on the needs of others. In doing so, we make a connection with the people we serve. And often we make connections with other people who serve. 
 
 
The author of Hebrews wrote, “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near” (10:25 NLT). He’s talking about fellowship, one of God’s most underrated gifts to us. Fellowship—the gathering together of the people of God—is an antidote to aloneness. 
 
 
Just as serving with others prevents isolation and creates connections, so does worshipping God with others. Your fellow church members share many of your core values and priorities. The more you get involved in your church, the stronger those connections become. So, if you find yourself struggling with feelings of loneliness, draw closer to God and His people.

I'm here  for the same reason I live... to bring glory to the name of Jesus my Lord. Join me, as we examine scripture and see the reality of Jesus's words when he said: 

John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Child by Grace

Psalm 94:22 But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge. 
 
Defence is necessary when one is under attack. Who attacks man? Flesh, world & devil. 
 
Our flesh is the first point of contact with the enemy but not the last. Christ on the cross addressed ALL the enemies of those who trust in. 
 
World: 
Galatians 6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom *the world is crucified unto me*, and I unto the world. 
 
Flesh: 
Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that *our old man is crucified with him,* that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 
 
Devil: 
Hebrews 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; *that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;* 
 
When we take refuge in him, victory is ours. Cause at the cross, he gathered ALL the enemies for battle, and there, they were defeated. Now we can walk in victory. How u ask? By walking in|with Jesus our saviour. 
 
 
 
Psalm 94:23 And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the Lord our God shall cut them off. 
 
All men are guilt of sin, and prior to repentance, are seen as wicked in the eyes of God. Without the Cross of Christ, if God were *to cut off the wicked*, not a sole would live. Cause the world loves darkness|sin, the world abides in death. 
 
Jesus made it possible for us to not stand in the way of sinners, to not be cut off. But to come off deaths highway, we need to put our faith|trust in him and follow him. 
 
Without faith its impossible to please him, without faith we remain in the path of death, without faith being cut off is inevitable. Faith in him is the path to him, to his goodness, his mercy. Remember this, God doesn't have to cut us off for us to die, cause when we are walking without him, we are already dead. The cross is his rescue act so we won't remain there. 
 
Faith in Christ gets us in life, faith in him keeps us there.. unbelief, keeps us in death.. Selah!

Psalm 94:16-17 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity? [17] Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence. 
 
When the psalmist notes that he needs God to stand for him *against* workers of iniquity, otherwise his soul would dwell in silence, his focus is not only on workers of iniquity out there, but the one in him. The flesh. We see Paul echo the sentiments of the psalmist: 
 
Romans 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 
 
The psalmist said: we cannot escape "going down or dwelling in silence" (Psalm 115:17) aka death, unless the LORD had been our help. 
Paul is implying the same thing in his question above. 
 
Without God's help, our biggest worry ought not be the sinners in the world and their power to harm/kill us, but the world in our flesh and its power separate us from Christ. 
 
Only in the cross of Christ is the power of the world to separate us from God (death|silence) nullified. And when God stands with us against the "workers of iniquity" out there, it's for the same purpose, to nullify death's power over them by bring them to the cross. ????????‍♂️????????‍♂️????????????????

Psalm 94:16-17 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity? [17] Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.

Why does God say the thoughts of man are vain? 
 
Philippians 3:19 Whose end is destruction, whose *God is their belly*, and whose glory is in their shame, *who mind earthly things*. 
 
When our belly is our God, we will spend all our time seeking to satisfy whatever we have an appetite for. For some thats a high paying job, or a nice car, for others its sexual gratification whenever|whenever possible. We all have different appetites as pertaining to things in this world. 
 
But, regardless of what our God|belly wants in this world, its called vainty (Ecc 1). Jesus said it this way: 
 
John 6:27 *Labour not for the meat which perisheth,* but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. 
 
Matthew 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 
 
Jesus said that where our treasure is, there will our heart be also. If the belly|God is where our thoughts are (and consequently our actions) then we are living vain lives that will end with our destruction as noted in Phil 3:19 above. 
 
Colossians 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 
 
The way we get heavenly affections is to have the river of God (Holy Spirit) flowing from our belly.

Why does God say the thoughts of man are vain?
