This passage of scripture is the intersection of Judaism and Christianity.  The prophet Zechariah is telling us today that a King is Coming, has come, and dwells with us.  His description of how this King would come, should resonate and hopefully provide the listener with a glimpse of Christ coming to dwell among us over 500 years before Christ.

1) The Lord will protect His people (vs 12-13) 
2) The Lord will save His people (vs 14-15) 
3) The Lord will shepherd His people (vs 16-17) 
 
We are to return to our strongholds (do not flee!) and become prisoners of hope! 
 
How easy is it to fall out of Hope? We must remember that God owns the victory and we are the benefactors. That He cares for us and keeps us gathered as a shepherd does his flock. We are the jewels in His crown! 
 
How great is his love for us!!
