We all have secrets— things we’ve done that we’re ashamed of and things we’re afraid to tell anyone. When we keep those secrets hidden, it feels like we’re safe, like no one can judge us if they don’t know the truth.

As they say, there’s no secret that doesn’t get revealed. We may think we’re protecting ourselves and our reputation, but when everything comes to light, we’d still end up hurting ourselves and even others.

To be relieved of the burden of your secrets, speak to God. You may be able to hide things from your fellow men, but He is all-knowing. He already knows everything about us, so if you’re still not comfortable admitting your dark secrets to others, you can confess everything to the Lord instead.

It’s hard to open up and be honest with anyone— even with God— but you should know that it’s worth it. When we admit our trespasses to Him, He can help us get over whatever it is we’re going through. If you admit your guilt and regrets, the burden in your heart and conscience will get lighter.
