“Who am I?” Have you ever seriously thought about this issue? You may also have multiple identities, but which one makes you feel proud? why?

Every born-again people have two main identities: one is the identity of the world, it would be short-lived and decay; the other is heavenly identity, which is through Jesus’ redemption on the cross for us, that is our “Christian” identity.May the following Bible verses will help you konw your christian identity more clearly.

1. Christians are called by God, separated from the world.

They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. – John 17:16-17

If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. – John 15:19

2. Christians are the children of God.

Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. – John 1:12-13

3. Christians are disciples of Christ Jesus.

“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” At once they left their nets and followed him. – Matthew 4:19-20

4. Christians are the friends of Jesus Christ.

You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. – John 15:14-15

5. Christians are the body of Christ Jesus.

For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. – Romans 12:4-5

6. Christians are the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; – 1 Corinthians 6:19

7. Christians are the people of God’s kingdom.

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. – Philippians 3:20

8. Christians are the aliens on earth.

Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul. – 1 Peter 2:11

Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them. – Hebrews 11:16

9. Christians are those sent by Christ to this world.

As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. – John 17:18

10. Christians are God’s housekeepers.

This, then, is how you ought to regard us: as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the mysteries God has revealed. Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. – 1 Corinthians 4:1-2
