Diligence needs to be taught and trained from a young age. Even now, it is not late. We need to discipline ourselves in the small things and use the time God allows to bear abundant fruit of the Holy Spirit.
There are many Bible verses that warn us about laziness. May this awaken our spirit and lead us to obey the word of God.
1.Proverbs 15:19The way of the sluggard is blocked with thorns, but the path of the upright is a highway.
2.Ezekiel 16:49Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy.
3.Proverbs 10:4-5“Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth. He who gathers crops in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.”
4.Proverbs 13:4A sluggard’s appetite is never filled, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.
5.Proverbs 12:24Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in forced labor.
6.Proverbs 20:13 Do not love sleep or you will grow poor; stay awake and you will have food to spare.
7.Proverbs 21:25The craving of a sluggard will be the death of him, because his hands refuse to work.
8.Proverbs 19:15Laziness brings on deep sleep, and the shiftless go hungry.
9.Proverbs 26:13A sluggard says, “There’s a lion in the road, a fierce lion roaming the streets!”
10.Proverbs 20:4Sluggards do not plow in season; so at harvest time they look but find nothing.
