Leaving Egypt Behind

Egypt is a type of the Antichrist spirit of the world. The exodus of the Jews is not a type of the Christian leaving sin but of a Christian leaving involvement in the spirit of the world.
After having been a Christian for many years, I have gained the impression that we view the exodus of Israel from Egypt as a type of the forgiveness of our sins. However, I do not believe this is the case. The type of the forgiveness of our sins and deliverance from those sins is The Day of Atonement, the sixth Levitical celebration, whereas the Passover, the exodus from Egypt, is the first of the feasts of the Lord.
During the Day of Atonement, one goat was slain and its blood was sprinkled upon and in front of the Mercy Seat. This is a type of the forgiveness of the members of the Church. The sins of Israel were then confessed by the High Priest and his hands were placed upon the head of a living goat. This goat was led away into the wilderness. Such is the type of the removal of sin from God’s chosen people.
You may notice that the forgiveness of our sins was not emphasized in the account of the Passover. Rather, the blood of the Lamb was placed on the doorposts of the Israelites, not to portray the forgiveness of the family in the house but as a sign to the destroying angel that he was to pass over those people on his way to destroy Egypt.
The spirit of the world is that of Antichrist. Its god is money. It is my impression that in our day the Christian people are not aware that the spirit of the world is satanic and are far too involved in it. The truth is, as the Scripture states, everything in the world comes not from the Father but from the world, and the love of the Father is not in people who find their pleasure and security in the things of the world.
