After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence. Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth. (Hosea 6:2,3)
He replied, “Go tell that fox, ‘I will keep on driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.’” (Luke 13:32)
On the third day he will restore us.
Marvelous things are prophesied concerning the third day. The expression "the third day," or "on the third day," appears several times in the Bible. "On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee," and so forth.
For us personally, I think the third day comes as we are being pruned for the third time. We are pruned somewhat when we first leave the world to follow Christ. We are pruned the second time after we have been saved for awhile, that we might bring forth more fruit.
If God feels we can go on to much fruit, we will be pruned yet again.
Many years ago I wrote a book titled, Three Deaths and Three Resurrections. I am amazed to find this concept coming to fruition in my mind today as I consider the fact that we now are entering the third day.
