The Roman Church acknowledges the Holy Scriptures (the apocryphal books included) but states that an unspoken word, called the tradition, is coated with an amount equal to the authority of the Holy Bible. In addition, states that are binding on the conscience the decrees of church councils (especially the Council of Trent, 1545 to 1563) and the pronouncements of the popes (especially the Creed of Pius IV, 1559 to 1565).
