Robert E. Coleman is widely known for his ministry as a disciplemaker and evangelist, and for many years has given leadership to the Billy Graham Center Institute of Evangelism at Wheaton College, along with the International Schools of Evangelism. He is the author of 21 books, including bestseller The Master Plan of Evangelism. Translations of one or more of his books are published in 100 languages. These men were His work. His ministry touched thousands, but He trained twelve men. He gave His life on the cross for millions, but during the three and a half years of His ministry He gave His life uniquely to twelve men.

The meeting began with some lively singing. But there was a difference from the usual song service. If we would sing a song that spoke of the grace of God, the song leader would ask, “Who can quote some verses on the grace of God?” Immediately men and women would be on their feet quoting verses of Scripture, giving references before and after the quotation. The process was repeated for songs on love or God’s faithfulness or Christ at Calvary.
