"And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison; and after many days shall they be visited."The "pit" and the "prison" might refer to the fate of two different groups. The pit in which the kings of the earth shall await the Great Day is the tomb; and "the prison" could be a reference to the "chains of darkness" in which the fallen angels are contained unto the judgment.
