Genesis 27:27. He smelled the smell, &c.— It is thought to have been the custom to scent their richer garments with odoriferous flowers and other perfumes, with which they could easily be supplied from Arabia, famed for aromatic herbs: though perhaps the common flowers and odoriferous herbs of the country were most in use: and in these it is not improbable those garments (the sacerdotal, as we suppose) were kept.
