THE TRIBE OF EPHRAIM (1 Chronicles 7:20-29).Shuthelah (Numbers 26:35) was head of the first of the four Ephraimitic clans (mishpehôth). The names of six successive chieftains of his line appear to be given in 1 Chronicles 7:20-21, ending with his namesake Shuthelah.
