Third, we should thank God the Father for all things (cf. Colossians 3:17; 1 Thessalonians 5:18). Christians can engage in thanksgiving even when they are not offering praise corporately. Praying in the name of Jesus Christ means praying because of His merits and work and in harmony with His will (cf. John 14:13-14; John 15:16; John 16:23-24; 1 John 5:14-15).
