In conclusion, John placed the alternatives side by side. Belief in the Son of God results in eternal life (John 1:12; John 3:3; John 3:5; John 3:15-16), life fitted for eternity with God and enjoyed to a limited extent now. Unbelief results in God’s wrath remaining on the unbeliever and his or her not obtaining eternal life.
