Jashobeam is mentioned in 1 Chronicles 12:11 as son of Hachmoni, and as one of those "three mighties" of David, of whom the other two were Eleazar and Shammah (see also 1 Chronicles 12:6 ); he is again referred to ( 2 Samuel 23:8 ) in a verse of which the text is corrupt, as "the Tachmonite," or more correctly "the Tahh-cemonite."
