Here we have,
(1,) Christ’s unwearied diligence in his great work of preaching the gospel, Matthew 11:1 .
(2,) His discourse with the disciples of John concerning the evidence of his being the Messiah, Matthew 11:3-6 .
(3,) An honourable testimony given by him to John , vv7-15.
(4,) His representation of the perverseness of the Jewish nation, with respect both to John’s ministry and his own; and a denunciation of terrible judgments about to come on some particular places, which had abused peculiar advantages and privileges, Matthew 11:16-24 .
(5,) His thanksgiving to his Father for the wise and gracious method he had taken in revealing the great mysteries of the gospel, and his gracious invitation to weary and heavy-laden sinners to come to him for rest, comfort, and salvation, Matthew 11:25-30 .
