Introduction
A.M. 4066. A.D. 62.
This chapter contains an account of Paul’s voyage to Rome as a prisoner, accompanied by Luke, with divers other prisoners.
(1,) The beginning of their voyage is calm and prosperous, Acts 27:1-8 .
(2,) Paul warns them of a destructive storm, but cannot prevail with them to winter where they were, Acts 27:9-11 .
(3,) They are attacked by the storm predicted by Paul, and reduced thereby to the greatest extremity, Acts 27:12-20 .
(4,) Paul, nevertheless, assures them that God would preserve all their lives, Acts 27:21 , Acts 27:26 .
(5,) After terrible and long distress, and the loss of their ship, they all, with great difficulty, escape to land on the isle of Malta, Acts 27:27-44 .
