The first nun of New England birth; born Sunderland, Vermont, 1784; died Montreal, Canada, 1819. The daughter of the patriot Ethan Allen, she had no religious training until she went to the Notre Dame Convent, Montreal, where she became a convert and afterwards made her religious profession.
