Virgin, martyr, died Gheel, Belgium, 7th century. According to legend she fled from Ireland to Gheel with the priest Gerebernus, to escape the unholy desire of her own father, a pagan king of Ireland. The latter, however, discovered their whereabouts and put them to death.
