That part of the Mass containing prayers which as a rule and for the most part remain unchanged and the rubrics or directions for the entire Mass, to be followed or filled in from the Proper of the Mass. It is inserted in the Missal between the Masses for Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday. It is distinct from the Proper of the Mass and from the Canon.
