Designates the creation of sacred ministers in the Church. This is effected by the conferring through orders of spiritual power, by which clerics are separated from the laity, and are deputed for the ministry of divine worship, and the rule of the faithful. To one made a cleric by tonsure this spiritual power is communicated by degrees, in the minor and major orders, in the priesthood, and flnally the fullness of it in episcopal consecration.
