signifies "to cause to coalesce, to join or knit together," Ephesians 4:16 , RV, "knit together" (AV, "compacted);" Colossians 2:2 , where some would assign the alternative meaning, "to instruct," as, e.g., in 1—Corinthians 2:16; in Colossians 2:19 , "knit together," it is said of the church, as the body of which Christ is the Head.
