a minister of the Reformed (Dutch) Church, was born in New Jersey. He graduated at the College of New Jersey in 1816, and at Princeton Theological Seminary in 1821. He served for a time in the Presbyterian Church in Pequea, Pa;, and in the Second Reformed (Dutch) Church of Philadelphia (1834-35), also in the Presbyterian Church at Salisbury, Pa. He died in 1846. John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry.
