Badger, Stephen a Congregational minister, was born at Charlestown, Mass., in 1725. He graduated at Harvard College in 1747, and spent his life as a missionary among the Indians at Natick, Mass., where he was ordained March 27, 1753. The fifth volume of the Massachusetts Historical Collections contains an article concerning the American Indians, and especially those of Natick, of which he is the author. John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry.
