Baroni, Cavalcado Gaspare Antonio a reputable Italian painter, was born at Roveredo in 1682, and studied under Balestra. He executed five works in fresco for the choir of the Church of the Carmelites of that city. His best works are the prophets Elijah and Elisha and the Last Supper. He died in 1759. See Spooner, Biog. John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry.
