Beu'lah (Heb. Beulah', בּעוּלָה, married; Sept. paraphrases οἰκουμένη) occurs in Isa 62:4, metaphorically of Judaea, as of a land desolated, but again filled with inhabitants, when "the land shall be married (תִּבָּעֵל)," referring to the return from Babylon; or it may be applied to the Jewish Church to denote the intimacy of its relation to God.
